Ex-Liverpool defender hits back at Yakubu Aiyegbeni for criticizing Salah’s goalscoring abilities

Former Liverpool defender, Dejan Lovren, has taken aim at Nigerian retired footballer, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, for his recent comments on the goalscoring abilities of Egyptian star forward, Mohamed Salah.
Aiyegbeni had claimed that Salah is not ‘world-class’ and most of his goals are lucky.
Speaking via FootyEmporium on Instagram, Aiyegbeni said: “Salah is not world class in my opinion. He is not good with the ball. Greatest African players in Premier League are Okocha, Drogba, Kanu, Yaya Toure, Adebayor and Sadio Mane.”

However, Lovren, who was a former teammate of Salah at Liverpool, came to his defence, implying that Yakubu had been drinking when he made the comments.
Commenting on the Instagram post, the 34-year-old said: “Clearly he tried some new drinks.”
